Cousins

We were so lucky to have Chris, Casey and Louisa come to Seattle and visit us. We thought that Baby Dillard might make his appearance over the weekend. We asked Chris and Casey to come and stay with us just in case Sarah went into labor (so they could stay with Jack). The baby still has not arrived, but we had a great visit with the Starks!

Jack and his cousin Louisa had so much fun playing together!

They also had fun in the tubby!

On Friday night we all went to Benihana. We were all entertained by our chef. Jack loved it when he made an onion volcano.

Cruzin'

As we anticipate the arrival of our baby, we feel the need to stay close to home. However, we also want to make the most of the summer sun and our last moments as a family of 3. Marty came up with a brilliant idea. He rented a convertible Mini Cooper for the evening and we cruised around Seattle.

We started in down town, cruised past the Space Needle, Lake Union, and over to Freemont. We drove past the famous Seattle troll, Gas Works Park, Greenlake, and through many of the North Seattle neighborhoods.

Berries

Poppa & Nana came to visit. While they were here Nana discovered that the black berries in our yard were ripe. Jack and Nana had a great time picking, and eating fresh black berries.

Zoo Tunes

Grandma came to stay with us to help us get ready for the baby's arrival. We got a lot of "to do" list items checked off, but it wasn't all work. We spent one evening at Zoo Tunes. We really enjoyed listening to Boz Scaggs. Grandma also liked all the free goodies they were giving away, especially the peaches!

The highlight of the Zoo Tunes for Jack was "Mud Man"

Dare Devil

We just went on our annual week long family vacation to Sunriver, Oregon. What really stood out to me on this trip is how independent Jack is and how little fear he has. Jack sacred me every time he got on to his tricycle! He loved riding the trike to the highest point on the street, pedaling as fast as he could, then coasting down the street with is legs spread eagle. I could not watch, and didn't really approve, but Jack LOVED rocketing down the hill on the bike. Marty was in charge of the biking sessions. There were no falls- so I guess it went well. He also has very little fear of the water. At the beginning of the summer I started swim lessons with Jack. At that time he was very nervous in the water, and wanted to get out of the pool. By his third week in the class he began to really enjoy the water. By the time we got to Sunriver all of Jack's fear of the water was gone. Now mommy is the fearful one! Jack loved jumping into the kiddie pool, splashing in the water, swimming with his ring, and even enjoyed 2 trips down the big water slide (on Daddy's lap).
