Halloween

We celebrated Halloween with lots of partying! Jack had a party at school. Later we went to Marty's work party. Then in the evening we had our own little celebration at home. We "kicked it old school" and made air popped pop corn!

Bend, Oregon

We went to Bend, Oregon for a special weekend. We went to celebrate Marty's Grandma's, (a.k.a. Bumpy) 90th birthday!! On Saturday night we had a family dinner at Bumpy's home in Sunriver. On Sunday we joined her and all her friends for a wonderful brunch birthday party. The kids loved the band, "Two Eds are Better Than One." We enjoyed spending time with our family. We were very excited to see cousin Noah, the last time we saw him he was just 2 months old.

"Louisa can I have this dance?"

Jack accidentally took a dip in the pond. He did not fall from the bridge but it was definitely time to leave the party and go home for a nap!

A Photo Shoot

My good friend Sandy decided she wanted to learn photography. She went about this like most everything she does. Sandy took a class at the local college, read every thing she could get her hands on, and poured her all in to this endeavor. She has only been at it for a few months, and already she is AMAZING! Here are some of the pictures she took of Bryce & Jack.

Sandy tried to get a few shots of Bryce and Jack, but Bryce was tired by then. Jack was a good sport though.

Jack was so excited to take a few pictures with Haylie. Doesn't he look so proud?

up up and Away

We visited California for about a week and a half. On the way to California Jack got to meet the pilot and check out the cockpit.

Jack and Bryce were both great travelers. They slept most of the way to and from California and were very mellow.

Candyland

For those of you who don't know; I love playing games! Cards, board games, puzzles I am excited. Not sure who had more fun (Jack or myself) when Jack and I played his first game of Candyland together.

April's Baby Shower

One of the main reasons for going to Sacramento, California was to throw April's baby shower. Lynnette, Brandy and I hosted a shower for April. April has been a party planner for each one of us for various occasions. Even though Bryce was only 5 weeks when we celebrated April's baby shower, I wouldn't think of missing this special day for a great friend!

April's shower theme was puppy dogs. April's mom made these adorable pup-cakes Jack LOVED them!

Liz doesn't have children, and claims she doesn't want them, but babies and kids just love her! Here's Lizzy with little Bryce. Don't be surprised if later he has a thing for blonds. Bryce was really checking her out!

We have all been celebrating together since high school. We were class of 1995... it's hard to believe we have we been celebrating life's blessings for so long!

Bryce is One Month Old

Bryce is one month old. He is a sweet little guy. He seems most happy when he is in someones arms or in the center of activity. Bryce really seems to respond to Jack's voice. He likes to sit in his little chair in the kitchen and watch and listen to us all. On October 3rd, Sarah's birthday, he showed us his first smile. He had been smiling in his sleep for sometime, but on Friday he smiled while awake for the first time.

Bryce is also super strong and can get his legs under him and push up. He can also roll from side to side. We just hope his immune system is as strong. He already had his first cold and is sure to get more as Jack is in preschool 3 mornings a week and seems to get a new illness each week. Here he is doing "tummy time."

How is Jack Doing?

Almost everyone we talk to wants to know, "How is Jack doing?" Except for having a bad cold and giving it to everyone in the house (even little Bryce), he is doing really well and seems to enjoy being a big brother.

No matter what Bryce is doing, sleeping, crying, yawning, or lounging, if he raises his arms even slightly, Jack exclaims, "Mommy he waved at me." The other day after Bryce's bath he was resting and flapped his arms and Jack was so excited, "Brycie is waving at me Mamma."

Later that evening Bryce was in Jack's room and I went to the kitchen for a moment to get a glass of water. Jack came running to me and said, "Mommy I gave Bryce a toy to play with." I was thinking, "Oh no, I should not have left them alone" and I ran in to Jack's room, only to find Bryce with Jack's favorite car, and a foam block in his lap. Funny enough, Bryce was holding on to the car!

At night we have a bed-time routine with Jack that includes reading books and saying prayers. Jack always wants Bryce to read with him. On nights Bryce can't read (because he is eating, sleeping or crying) we say prayers and Jack always remembers to include his brother Bryce (even when Mommy & Daddy forget)!
