Christmas in Sacramento

As usual, we had an exciting but hectic Christmas celebration in Sacramento with both Marty and Sarah's family. Christmas Eve was spent with Marty's family for a nice dinner and presents.

On Christmas Day, Sarah and Tom hosted an incredible breakfast spread at the Jumper house for guests. We opened the rest of our presents late in the morning.

Tom even pretended to be an authentic "bad Santa".

We spent the evening dining with Sarah's extended family. As usual, all of our Christmas wishes came true.

Jackson's First Birthday Parties

Yes, Jackson's first birthday was so special that we had to have more than one party for him. The first party was with all of our friends at Wharton and Jackson's buddies from the Wharton Kids Club. We had cake and ice cream for the kids and Marty even learned how to make balloon animals for the kids (well, at least he could make a dog and a flower).

After we got to Sacramento for the holidays, we had another birthday party for Jackson so that he could celebrate with his family. He had another cake and was showered with attention and way too many gifts.

His cousins were more than happy to help take care of him.

Happy Thanksgiving

We celebrated Thanksgiving with the Egan’s. They live just down the hall from us. Jackson did not have much interest in the food. This was surprising because usually he is a hearty eater. Maybe it was because of all on the festivities. In addition to celebrating Thanksgiving it was also Trinity Egan’s 1st birthday.

Jackson is 11 Months Old

Jack is such a busy little guy. When he is awake he is constantly on the move! He loves to make lots of noise. One way he makes noise is banging the pots and pans. The other way he makes noise is screaming: he yells in the hallways of our building to get the dog’s to bark, screams in the hallway in our apartment (because it echoes), and when he wakes up in the morning he will lay in his bed (for up to a half hour) talking and screaming happily to himself.

Getting into trouble!

Happy Halloween

Jackson had a ton of fun celebrating his first Halloween. We went to a Halloween party on Friday night and went trick-or-treating on Halloween. We went trick-or-treating with several of Jack’s little buddies. It was quite fun going door-to-door in such a beautiful and historic neighborhood. The street we went trick-or-treating on is located just across the street from our building.

He really enjoyed his first lollipop!

The Pumpkin Patch

October 19th 2006 Jackson takes his first trip to the Pumpkin Patch. We went to a Pumpkin Patch about 20 minutes form down town Philadelphia. We went with a few of our friends & everyone had a great time. We took a ride on a train, visited with some animals, and of coarse we bought pumpkins! We took lots of pictures, but I never really could get Jack to look at the camera; there were way too many other interesting things for him to look at! We lucked out, the weather was great and all the kiddies were well behaved. All and all it was a great trip to the Pumpkin Patch!

Jackson is 10 Months Old

Jackson is 10 months old!

Yes we are a cliché. So many pictures of our newborn and now we average a few pictures a month. Life sure is busy with a 10 month old. Jackson is mobile! He can get anywhere and into anything. If we forget to put the dog's water bowl up he is in the bowl with in seconds. He has taken a few steps independently but prefers to crawl or walk holding on to things. He has music classes two days a week and swimming class on Mondays. I haven't taken any pictures of his class, but will try to do so this month. Here are our favorite pictures.

Sunriver

This summer Marty worked for the Boston Consulting Group. It was a busy summer for him. He traveled 4 days a week and worked most weekends. So when it came time to enjoy our vacation before returning to Philadelphia we wanted to relax. Sunriver is the perfect place to do so.

We enjoyed golfing & having Sarah and Kenny visit.

We went on lots of nice bike rides.

Best of all we go to spend time with family.

Jackson is 8 Months Old

Jackson is 8 months old. This month Jackson’s most favorite thing is going to Gymboree. At Gymboree he plays, sings, dances, and meet other baby-buddies. This month he has really grown! He no longer fits in any of his 6 month clothes and can just squeeze into his 9 month clothes, 12 month clothes are usually the best fit. He didn’t out grow his clothes by chance... Jackson loves to eat! When he is eating he makes sounds of joy. He waves his spoon in the air and coos!

Jackson crawls quickly now! We cannot leave him alone for a second. He does not paly with any of his toys. Instead he likes to play with shoes (yuck), boxes, and anything dangerous in sight. He can walk around an object (our laundry basket is his favorite), and has begun to pull himself up to a standing position. He did this for the first time a week ago, but has gotten much more stable this week.

"Look Daddy I am standing up and holding on with one hand!"

Jackson is 7 Months Old

Jackson is 7 months old and seems to grow by the minute! He has gotten so big!

He has learned all sorts of new skills this month. Some of them are useful, others amusing, but all he does amazes us! Jackson has been repeating sounds and noises for a while. His latest favorite sounds and noises are sticking out his tongue and blowing making a “trrrp” sound, and clicking his tongue, which sounds like an old wall clock keeping time. He say “hi” (we’re still not sure it is really hi or if it is just another noise) and likes to yell “haaaa.”

Jackson can scoot on his stomach and pull himself around. It is not graceful, but gets him to his destination. He desperately wants to walk and always reaches for an adult to hold him in an up-right walking position.

This month Jackson’s most favorite thing is the walker at his Grandma’s house. Sarah and Marty were worried about a walker- thinking them dangerous. Well the walker is not dangerous, but Jackson in the walker is a problem. The little guy doesn’t walk in it he RUNS! Crashing into walls, book shelves, and most of all Tucker (our dog)!

Four Years!

Four years and still going strong!

This year our anniversary sure was different. Little Jackson accompanied us on our anniversary dinner. What a change! Our table had baby food jars, toys, and plastic spoons galore. We are blessed to celebrate another year and have our little guy with us to join in the fun.

The following day we took in a Giants game.

Jackson was not pleased when Barry Bonds was up. He did not like all the noise the crowd made! Overall, we had a great day and special anniversary!
